Mullingar Community Training Centre has an available position for a Catering Instructor to deliver our Catering Course. The role demands adjustment in responding to learners needs whilst supporting them through flexible training options to deliver an initial QQI level 4 in Catering Support. Training is delivered through an array of methods tailored to the individual needs of our learner, pre-dominantly a hands-on approach within a live kitchen supported by demonstration environments and theory, etc. Our Training Centre participates in Erasmus+ and the successful applicant should possess the skills to enhance and participate in this valuable programme.

Catering Instructor (12 Month Contract)
Desired Skills and Qualifications for Successful Applicants;
- A Formal Qualification in a relevant Subject Matter of at least QQI Level 7
With
A Recognised Qualification in Training & Education or similar of at least QQI level 7
- Relevant experience of working in a training environment, experience supporting young persons (age 16-21) an advantage
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to manage, with ease, a live operational and training kitchen
- A Proven ability to provide guidance and support to new & emerging learners
- Proven effectiveness at demonstrating Food Sustainability and Experience in procurement & purchasing within budgetary guidelines
- An ability to integrate, update and develop course content & tailor tutoring approaches for learner needs
- Significant competency with HACCP & in liaising with EHO
- Proficiency to work effectively and foster working relationships with Internal and External Stakeholders
- A working knowledge of the Hospitality sector and an awareness of the FET Sector and pathways to career progression
The salary scales for this post start at €33,254 and increase with service to €59,330. Starting salary will apply to new applicants and this role is based on a 35hr working week.
