On 21st November, 9 of our learners met in the Centre at 3am for a bus to Dublin Airport. Flying to Malaga for 5 days was the plan for the week. Each of the 5 days were packed with visiting museums, cathedrals, schools similar to the CTC. On Wednesday, learners walked the Caminito Del Rey which took over 5 hours.
Whilst visiting I.E.S. La Rosaleda school, our group spoke to learners from Hungry who were in a “work placement” in their Catering section. Further introductions were made with a group from Madagascar. During the visit, learners also got to meeting our VTCT Internal Quality Assurance rep who they’d only ever met virtually previously.
The aim of the trip was to promote positive mental health through physical activity, self-development and social interaction while travelling. It also gives an opportunity for learners to develop and hone their key competencies to increase the employability. These include broadening their communication, personal/interpersonal and transversal skills.
With an average of 35,000 steps walked per day, the learners made new friends, gained lifelong experience and memories and can’t wait to go back again. This is the first of many learner mobilities to come

Funded by the EU and supported by Leargas, Erasmus+ has become a renewed offering to the learners in the Centre.
